solution: |

The client desires to create a multi-faceted performing arts
center serving the region as a cultural destination, the artistic community, as
well as a facility for dinner and special functions.
Designed as a year-round facility, the new center will not only serve as the
company’s primary performance space, but also provide a professional theater for
the region’s K-12 schools and collegiate programs. The primary facility is
a 300-seat dinner theater with a full-fly, front and mid-house, stage house
catwalk and rigging systems. A full dimmer system, follow-spots, sound and
lighting boards complete the professional theater. Supporting the theater are
dressing and green rooms, scene shop, and storage.
Additionally, there is a 50-seat restaurant serving non-theater goers. The
kitchen serves both halls. During warmer months, the outdoor amphitheater
adds an additional performance venue for the community.
The building is designed to meet LEED-gold standards, which will include a rain
water harvesting system, roof-mounted wind turbines, green roof, and indigenous
plant species interior and exterior to the building. |
