The client desires to create a multi-faceted community
center serving the school-aged children in the area, the artistic community, as
well as a facility for dinner and special functions.
The facility incorporates several fine art classrooms, a dance/theatre, martial
arts, and music studio. Additionally, there is a 300-seat black-box
theater/event venue, indoor garden and art gallery supporting the artistic and
event population. Supporting an afternoon program for the neighboring
student population are a drop-in homework center, and a computer lab.
The building is designed to meet LEED-gold standards, which will include a rain
water harvesting system, photo-voltaic panels, green roof, and indigenous plant
species interior and exterior to the building.
