solution: |
|
The new 16,000 sf addition doubles the size of Stevens Hall. The
project includes new classrooms, offices, a student commons, and multi-purpose
room. It also re-establishes a student -teacher ratio of 8:1.
The energy efficient “green” addition will incorporate passive solar heating.
A horizontal solar screen over the east, west, and south facing walls will
minimize heat gain in the warmer months. The south facing glass facade
will maximize solar heating in the winter. A green roof system will be
installed for additional insulation and reduction of rainwater run-off. |
